"NALA leads the paralegal profession by providing a voluntary certification program, continuing legal education, and professional development programs for all paralegals."   NALA Mission Statement

This section is sponsored by:

  National Registered Agent Service

The NALA Annual Membership Meeting is the one time that members gather to participate in terrific educational programs, as well as association business meetings.

Each year, NALA publishes an Annual Report, summarizing the association's work for the year, and a snapshot of the association's financial standing. The report is distributed to NALA members at the July Annual Meeting and posted on the NALA web site.

NALA Headquarters
Since its inception, NALA has employed an executive director and staff to provide administrative and association management services. Presently, there are eight NALA staff members – persons working full-time in the administration of association services. In addition, NALA works with contract persons on publication of FACTS & FINDINGS, publication design and promotion, bookkeeping, attorney services, computer support and accounting.
The Executive Director is the chief executive officer of the association, accountable to the NALA Board of Directors and works directly under the supervision of the president. The staff implements the goals, plans and policies developed by the Board of Directors. Staff responsibilities include:
  • Managing business affairs of the association including staffing, maintaining corporate records, financial reporting
  • Advising the board on long range planning functions, developing and administering association programs, assisting the board with program monitoring
  • Promoting a positive image of NALA and the paralegal profession.
A professional headquarters staff is a significant attribute that gives NALA a distinct advantage among associations. The staff members work on a daily basis to conduct the business supported by NALA members in the most timely and cost-efficient manner possible.
